Khalin Joshi maintains three-stroke advantage in third round

Ahmedabad, September 15, 2016: Reigning champion Khalin Joshi of Bengaluru maintained his three-stroke lead in round three of the PGTI Ahmedabad Masters presented by Kalhaar Blues & Greens. Joshi, who brought in a card of one-under-71 in the penultimate round, took his tournament tally to 12-under-204.

Delhi’s Rashid Khan also fired a 71 to hold on to his overnight second place at nine-under-207.

Khalin Joshi (68-65-71), the second round leader by two shots, was off to yet another terrific start as he birdied his first two holes for the third successive day. Joshi then scrambled for a bogey on the fourth before quickly recovering ground with another birdie on the fifth.

There seemed to be a twist on the back-nine as Rashid Khan (67-69-71) closed the gap to one stroke after an eagle-birdie run on the 12th and 13th. Rashid came extremely close to achieving a rare albatross on the par-5 12th where his approach from 200 yards out landed within a foot of the flag for a tap-in eagle.

Both Khalin and Rashid bogeyed the 14th with the former limiting the damage with a 12-feet conversion after hitting his second shot out of bounds. But Joshi, who closed the day with birdie-bogey on the 17th and 18th, was back in the driver’s seat with a three-shot cushion at the end of the day as Khan conceded a disastrous double-bogey on the 18th where he found the slope of the water hazard and had to take a penalty drop.

Joshi said, “I didn’t shoot a low number but it was a decent round since the playing conditions were tough today. The wind was up, the tees were pushed back and the pin positions were not easy either. It was tough to commit to a shot.

“I’ve enjoyed some splendid starts this week and that has set it up well for me in each round. However, for the second straight day today, I closed the round with a bogey. So I’m a tad disappointed with that.

“The good news is that, I struck it better in round three as compared to the first two days. I’ll not go out there in the final round thinking about defending my title as that will only put further pressure on me. I just need to play my best and that should do the job,” added Khalin.

The stage is thus set for a fascinating duel between the 24-year-old Khalin and the 25-year-old Rashid, two golfers who have played a lot of golf together in their formative years.

Om Prakash Chouhan of Mhow too maintained status quo on day three as he held on to his overnight third position courtesy a 71. His total stood at eight-under-208.

Panchkula-based Rolex Ranking leader Shubhankar Sharma was in fourth at six-under-210 while Sri Lankan Anura Rohana was a further shot back in fifth place.

Noida’s Vikrant Chopra produced the day’s best score of 67 to move up 17 places from overnight tied 28th to 11th position.

Ahmedabad’s Varun Parikh, the lone amateur to make the cut, returned an 80 on Thursday to be placed tied 41st at 11-over-227.

The chosen selection of music will show the numerous scents and landscapes in the music and lyrics she created and/or adapted on the Jota, traditional genre that was set aside as music for the elderly people on Patron Saint Festivals, as it is the only common genre among all cultures in the Iberian Peninsula (in Portugal it is called gota) and is also part of the origin of flamenco and other types of music beyond the seas. Jota and, particularly, Aragonese Jota by the hand of the unmistakable voice and creative audacity of Carmen Paris, makes a musical voyage that embraces the Mediterranean seasides from the Ebro to Jordan, with the Americas from the Southern Cone to Boston, including Carmen’s music for the poems of three of the greatest Hispanic American poets and thinkers: Pablo Neruda, José Martí and F. García Lorca, the latter set to music and sung by herself on various occasions, the most recent one “Nana del caballo grande” from “Bodas de sangre” for the soundtrack of the successful and awarded film “La Novia” by the also Aragonese director Paula Ortiz, a song which is included as a novelty in this synthesis of what already is the past of Carmen Paris, but with the activity set on an international future as ambassador of the Iberian Music Culture, whose rich heritage is not just flamenco and fado exclusively. (+)

National Mission On Chikungunia, Dengue, Malaria Absent

September15, 2016 (C) Ravinder Singhprogressindia2015@gmail.com
I am responding to the TV News Stories of Chikungunia Epidemic in Delhi.
The kind of Mosquito that spreads Chikungunia & Dengue is a Strong
Flyer. As per one Discover Channel episode on Malaria – Mosquitoes can
fly 5 kilometers in 24 hours – Chikungunia and Dengue carrying
Mosquitoes even more. It is only when fully Loaded Female mosquito it
can’t fly long distance and lay eggs in fresh water.
Ceiling Fan is no Protection Against this Mosquito; Mosquito Net,
Fully Covered Body, Repellents, Sprays and FOGGING are all required.
Leaking Water from Indirect Water Supply – Inaccessible Places in
Homes Like Sunshades – RWH Pits, Open Drains, Construction Sites etc
Breed Mosquitoes.
Metro cities has large Mobile Work Force living in Slums – so
Chikungunia, Dengue and Malaria can spread rapidly.
First time at 6AM a mini truck mounted Fogging Machine was in action
today. More than a month ago returning home I noticed big smoke near
my house. I stopped and asked a private security guard ‘is there
another fire today?’. It was ‘Fogging’ in a house and every member of
a Doctor Family was suffering from Chikungunia.
They had requested SMCD to arrange for FOGGING their house. Couple of
days later talked to some Vendor who appeared to have lost weight and
sick – all had Chikungunia.
BRITISH Era Malaria Prog VS Integrated Mosquito Control
In British Days DDT was sprayed in Each Home every year. Droplets of
DDT would dry up on walls and provided protection against mosquitoes.
DDT is banned for decades.
Malaria Control had stopped spraying DDT for over 40 years – do little than >
> Putting Few Milligrams of Insecticide in Desert Coolers – Which Is Ineffective When They Advise Change of Water Every Week Which is Difficult to Implement Due to High Cost Of Labor & Workers in Delhi and Shortage of Water itself.
    100% Fogging of Delhi Roads On First Week of Every Months
[July-November] – Pesticide Granules in Coolers, Drains, Pits etc.
Close Useless RWH Will All Together Be Effective.
    Fogging After First Rain Will Also Control TERMITES Which
Damages Woodwork in Urban Homes & FRUIT FLY.
    Double Up MID-DAY Meal & Food Programs for Fast Recovery.
    Introduce ‘Telephone FEVER Helpline’, Collect Bloods Samples
& Supply Medicines to Homes Than Clogging Hospitals.

AirAsia first in Southeast Asia to operate Airbus A320neo aircraft powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines
SEPANG, 15 SEPTEMBER 2016 – AirAsia, the world’s best low-cost airline becomes the first airline in Southeast Asia to operate the Airbus A320neo aircraft powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines. Equipped with a Space Flex Cabin for an optimal passenger comfort and efficiency, the aircraft is configured with 186 seats. It is the airline group’s 172nd aircraft to be received from a total of 575 aircraft in its order book.

A celebratory event was held today to commemorate the arrival of this aircraft, which was attended by Malaysia’s Minister of Transport, Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong LaiH.E. Christophe Pinot, French Ambassador to Malaysia, H.E. Victoria Marguerite Treadell, British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, Executive Chairman of AirAsia Berhad and Group CEO of AirAsia X Berhad, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, AirAsia Group CEO; along with the rest of theAirAsia Group’s senior management. This is further complemented with the extra seats installed, pushing the capacity up to 186 per aircraft.

“We are particularly pleased on the environmental element, where the fuel savings translates into some 5,000 tonnes less CO2 per aircraft per year, in addition to the double-digit reduction in NOx emissions and reduced engine noise” he added.

Kiran Rao, Executive Vice President Strategy & Marketing, Airbus said “AirAsia has set the benchmark for efficiency wherever it flies. With the A320neo things are about to get even better, with a 15 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and lower maintenance costs. Meanwhile passengers will get to enjoy the same unbeatable levels of comfort of any aircraft in the single aisle category. The A320neo is the quite simply the most efficient single-aisle passenger jet in the world. We are confident that it will play a key role in enabling AirAsia to maintain its position as one of the world’s leading low-cost carriers.”

“We are honored to be part of this incredible team and excited to enter the next new phase of our relationship with AirAsia,” saidAllen Paxson, CFM Executive Vice President. “We believe that all of the benefits of LEAP technology — fuel efficiency, an improved environmental footprint, industry-leading reliability, low maintenance costs —  will have a very positive impact on AirAsia’s operational efficiency and help fuel their continued growth long-term.”
